When You Outsource, Proceed with Caution
You will be known by the company you keep. This is true in personal social situations as well as in business. The people and companies you choose as your collaborators ultimately reflects on your values and your philosophy.
As a small business, you can't do it all. You'll probably need an outside firm to handle your accounting, your IT, and perhaps even your human resources. Choose well and screen them. Make sure you're hiring reputable people to perform these tasks for you. The last thing you want is for a company to whom you've outsourced your work to come back and haunt you. Ask for references and if appropriate, perform background checks on them. The last thing you want to do is hire someone who has a background that is disreputable or scandal ridden.
