Twitter Shuns Google, Facebook Overtures

Twitter has turned down a $500 million offer from Facebook as well as a advertisment partnership with Google.  Twitter co-founder Biz Stone has also rejected placing ads on consumer tweets, a traditional revenue generating vehicle for web-based start up companies.

While the two year old microblogging company experiences explosive growth, it has no revenue stream. Twitter execs are still trying to determine how to generate revenue with the platform.  As Twitter burns through its venture capital, the company is focusing on commercial development to attract commercial customers.
