As we prepare to usher in a new year, it’s a good time to evaluate your online marketing efforts. Your web presence should be generating qualified leads for your business. If it’s not, it’s time to re-evaluate what you are doing or more likely, not doing that’s hampering your marketing. Here are a few items to help in your evaluation:
1)Content– most business website simply don’t have enough content to rank well in the search engines. Google remains the most important search engine and it is careful to rank those sites that provide the end user (the customer) with the most valuable information about a particular product or service. If you don’t have original content that is thorough and knowledgeable, it’s not going to rank well. Duplicate content is a serious problem for many websites. These sites have copied content from other sites in their industry and put it on their site. Google recognizes this and penalizes you for it. If you’re not sure if your site suffers from this problem, go here and check your content for duplicate content. This is a problem that can’t be ignored. If you can’t do the writing yourself, give me a call and I can help you. Once the content has been re-written, we can re-submit your site to Google so that they can re-index your site with the new content.
2)Mobile-many sites are still not mobile compliant. This means they don’t display properly on mobile devices. Over half of web traffic is now done on a mobile device as opposed to a desktop device. If your site is not mobile, you’re losing business.
3)Site Navigation-design remains an important factor in search engine optimization rankings as well as user experience. Is your site navigable? Can the end user get to the information they are looking for quickly and easily? Is the design intuitive? Are contact forms readily displayed on every page of your site?
If your business has any of these issues, it’s time to fix them so that 2017 can be profitable for your company. Contact me today for a free site evaluation and consultation concerning what you need to do now to grow your business.
